Glossy Black Cockatoos- Birdlife Australia

Birdlife Australia
Did you know that Glossy Black Cockatoos feed almost exclusively on she-oak trees?

But there is a shortage. One third of their habitat was lost in previous 2019 -20 bushfires and now they face possibility of losing even more this season with worryingly hot dry weather predicted to continue .

Without foraging habitat, these birds will not survive .

Birdlife Australia is supporting the planting of vital food sources, like native she-oaks for South-Eastern Glossy Black-Cockatoos, to replace destroyed feeding habitat and regenerate areas .
