Fire Operations Plan

An updated Fire Operations Plan has been put in place for the reserve.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning remain responsible for fire prevention planning within the reserve, including conducting and planning for controlled burns.

The reserve will be closed to the public on total fire ban days. Staff will monitor the reserve on a daily basis reducing any risk of fire.

Fire in the reserve is best prevented as the damage caused to wildlife and vegetation would be seriously detrimental to the reserve. Surrounding home owners are advised that the reserve is not to form part of their ‘fire plan’. There is no access to the reserve from surrounding home owners and use of the reserve perimeter is absolutely prohibited. Clear access for the Country Fire Authority (CFA) must be maintained at all times. A copy of the approved Frankston NCR.FOP15.17 is available.
