FNCR Guardians 10th Anniversary

FNCR Guardians 10th Anniversary

Happy 10th Birthday Guardians!

What a sensational cake!!

The Guardians officially celebrated a milestone in conservation effort. The Guardians who are comprised mostly of families who live next to and near to the reserve have successfully advocated on behalf of the reserve and donated thousands of hours of their time to hands on work in the reserve to improve the biodiversity and recover species from the brink of local extinction.

As a direct result of the commitment and volunteer contribution several endangered vegetation communities have benefited and regionally rare species have been re-discovered, such as the elfin midge orchid. The number of orchids and lilies at the reserve has significantly increased, woody weeds have decreased and the health of the reserve has flourished.

We are most fortunate to have so many eager supporters for the reserve over such a long period of time. Thank you all for your efforts. Your work is clearly evident at the reserve!
